Kitesurfing Holidays in Morocco

The trade winds bring year round winds to the Moroccan coast which are accelerated by a thermal effect over the summer months. The strongest and most reliable winds come between April- September. Any time of year is a good time for a kitesurfing holiday in Morocco which offers a trip itinerary for every style of traveller and kiteboarder.

Learn to kite or join a freestyle camp in the world famous Dakhla lagoon, stay in a beachfront riad in the ancient city of Essaouira and enjoy endless wave downwinders along the bay or venture on a week long kite and road trip between Essaouira and Dakhla explore untouched beaches, lagoons and traditional villages.

Dakhla is home to a 45km long flatwater lagoon, a freestyle paradise. This spot is suitable for all riding levels. It is perfect for learning and an amazing place to step up those freestyle skills. Just 30 mins from the lagoon is Oum Lamboiur, a wave spot so it’s great for surfing as well.

Essaouira is located on the northeast coast of Morocco offering both flatwater and wave riding. In Essaouira Bay the water is flat until about 100m out where the waves start to form. The best wave spots in the area are Sidi Kaouki and Moulay Bouzerktoun. The river mouth offers great flat water riding when the tide is high.

Agadir is a 6km long bay about 200km south Essaouira. Depending on the tide, the beach is between 200-400m wide leaving plenty of space for launching and making it a safe location for learning. The waves range from small-large the whole year. Just 15 minutes south of Agadir is a secret flat water spot with nobody on the water.
